Hi !

I have a few problems. I have Red Hat 5.0 installed on my machine and i
have adjusted my screen with xvidtune, but when i restart X  or restart
Linux my setting are gone why ??

I also want to use the internet, not only as root , but also as a
another user and i have been given the advise to do chmod u+s
/usr/sbin/pppd* but that didn't seem to work, because i can't access the
network configurator in the control panel other then as root. Do i have
to chmod to the network configurator in the control panel to, or what is
the answer  ?

Please help me with these questions

Thanx Fredrik

What you should do is start xvidtune from an xterm, and *copy the mode
line* printed out in this xterm to the corresponding place in the
/etc/X11/XF86Config file.

Repeat procedure until your screen looks completely satisfactory
(no black edges).

I believe you should rather use Red Hat's "usernet". Don't know the details,
though. I use my own tkdial, found in the february issue (IIRC) of Linux
Gazette (www.linuxgazette.com).
