HELP: ps -u gives floating point exception!

I recently installed kernel 1.3.94 on an 8MB Pentium with Triton chipset,
previously having 1.3.42 Since then whenever I've tried ps -u or top (both
of which show usercodes) I get a Floating point exception.

I upgraded to 1.3.100 hoping that it was a glitch in 1.3.94, but with no
luck (on this problem). Must I recompile top and ps ? Is there maybe another
reason?

Please email replies.

Thanks,
Jason
