 NVidia GeForce4 - XF86 problems
Hi,
I have a Dell 8200 Inspiron and have download the NVidia drivers
recommended by their script.
I get the errors following.  Should I upgrade from Redhat 7.1 to
7.3 for more success?  Even RH 8.0?  At this time I was testing using
this config:
http://www.**-**.com/ ~carlton/i8200/XF86Config-4.txt

thanks

Tim

 NVidia GeForce4 - XF86 problems

It looks like you are attempting to use DRI.  I'd suggest removing DRI
from XF86 or follow the instructions at the top of the log dump and
upgrade if the system is over 6 months....In this case it's 2 years..:)

 NVidia GeForce4 - XF86 problems
In article <a7234bb1.0302181658.5e240...@posting.google.com>, "Tim Smith"

/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libdri.a is unresolved!

This is a question of NOT reading the manual, i have written about this
befare so many times to people who say the nvidia drivers dont work for
me, it looks very much like your problem is caused by DRI.

The last error is;

Caught signal 11.  Server aborting

It could also be a run out of memory problem, but i would not qute myself
on that as loading DRI may well cause it.
