 dual boot system video configurations

        I am  running redhat 5.0 and Win95 w/ FAT32. Here's my problem:
Under Win95, I run 32K colors at 480x640 resolution. Under Linux, I run
256 colors at 480x640 (I don't think my video card will handle 600x800).
If I restart and use Linux for a while, when I return to Win95 I am only
using 256 colors. I want to know if there is a way I can either ruturn
to 16-bit color without having to  restart my computer AGAIN, or if
there is a way to change my X Windows System settings to use 32K colors.
If I can run 32K colors under Win95 does that necessarily mean I can
under Linux?
Thanks for any and all help,
