Getting left function keys to work under X
I am running RedHat 2.0 (linux-1.2.13; XFree86-3.1.2).

My keyboard (Focus 9000) has a set of function keys on the left side
that are labeled PF1-PF12 (in addition to the F1-F12 on the top of the
keyboard).  I would like to be able to use these keys in X.  The
showkey program indicates these these keys generate the following
keycodes (key presses only): 85,89-95,120-123.  None of these keycodes
are assigned to anything in the us.map file.  Also xev never sees any
of these keys.

I don't want the left set of function keys to be a copy of the top
set.  They should be an independent set.  So, what do I have to do to
get them to work under X (e.g. to bind window manager functions to
some of those keys)?

[Followups directed to comp.os.linux.x.]
