 Matching strings with regular expressions
I would like to know whether there is a library for performing regular
expression comparison on strings.  That is, similar to egrep, check
whether a string matches a given regular expression pattern.

Thanks in advance.

 Matching strings with regular expressions

Given that you cross posted to c.u.q. I assume you have a Unix system.
Check out the regex functions.  That index that another thread is claiming
doesn't exist has a few entries hidden under "regular expressions."  :-)
