 bash prompt
Hello,

Can someone tell me where (in the bash sourcecode) the prompt is printed to stdout ?
I searched a couple of hours for it but i can't find it.

Why do you want to know that. Hacking things like the bash shell may
not be the best way to do whatever it is that you want to do.

what do you need that for?
are you trying to customize the prompt?
if so you are barking up the wrong tree
if not then what spacificly is it that you want to do
there is probably a easier way
