csh or ksh .....cshrc or .profile ?

i would like to know why when i have a cmdtool, i dont have my
configuration in my .profile and ksh_env.

I have to launch manually . .profile and . .ksh_env
How could i know if it launch really the .profile (i m sure i m in ksh)

The shell you get when you login is determined by your entry in the
/etc/passwd file.  Look there to determine the shell.

ksh uses a .profile only when you first login and, if ENV variable is
set it will use whatever file it points to everytime it starts.

csh will use .cshrc everytime it starts and .login only on login.

If you are set to startup with a csh you can set ENV in your .login file
and when you change to ksh it will run whatever file ENV points to.

Note that if you use cde then some of the above changes slightly.
