wierd csh ~ file expansion problems
I have file expansion on (set filec in my .cshrc) on a SGI 4D420 running
3.3.2 and have this problem.

If I do

ls ~username

I get a listing of everything is username's directory.  Then, if I type

ls ~user<esc>

which expands to ~username, the prompt comes back and no files are shown.

Any subsequent

ls ~username

doesn't work either.  Is this a SGI problem, or a generic csh problem?
Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?  Let me know,

On our Apollo, ls ~user<esc> doesn't expand to ls ~username.

The same thing happens on our Apollo in this case.  (I.E. after doing
~user<esc> once, any reference to ~username doesn't work.)

The above sounds exactly like the bug that was in Sun's pre-4.0.something
(and apparently many others) YP routines - Sun tcsh users were (are?)
often plagued by this even after Sun got the bug fixed, since they were
running old statically-linked binaries. Tcsh has had a workaround for
the bug for a long time, it's just a matter of turning on a #define for
those systems that need it (i.e. get tcsh and junk your buggy old csh!:-).
