 Hide Server from Browse Lists?

I have noticed quite a bit of messages/documentation
on how to get a Samba server to show up in browse

I have the opposite problem--I want it to disappear!
Namely, the analog of

net config server /hidden:yes

Is there a specific flag which addresses this?  I have
tried a number of obvious things, but none works so
far.  I can post my smb.conf file if that helps.

My guess is that it is obvious, but I can't seem to find
it in the documentation!  Any help is very much appreciated.

    Best regards,

Have you tried 'browseable = no' ??

 Hide Server from Browse Lists?

"browsable = no"in the [globals] sections
seems to set the default behavior for the
shares, not the server itself.

To get the server from showing up in browse
list, I need to keep nmbd from making periodic
announcements about itself.  (I still would like
to run it, because I want the host to register
with the wins server, and respond to requests
from other hosts.)

Looking at the source, the only thing I have
been able to do so far that works is to return
immediately from
"void announce_my_server_names(time_t t)"
in nmbd_sendannounce.c.  As far as I can
tell this is not gated by a flag, although
the description of "browse list = No" seemed

Anyway, thank you for your ideas!
