does anybody has an idea about this problem :

- as well on SuSE-Linux 5.3 (Kernel 2.0.35) as on
Halloween Linux V.4 (based on Red Hat Linux 6.1 GPL,
Kernel 2.2.13-12 the Netscape Communicator 4.7 falls
in a kind of autism after after a while of working
without any problems. Suddenly he does no longer
response to any event. If one moves the netscapewindow
out of the screenarea and then back, the text and the
images will not been redrawn. There is only an nearly
blank window (perhaps the backgroundcolor is still
there as well as some rectangular fields, which are
empty now).
- the netscapewindow then can't be destroyed by
mouseclick. Also a (soft) kill on the process-id does
not success. Only a brutal 'kill -9' terminates
netscape.

Please help me with this anoying behavior.

Buddy,

     You've unfortunately cracked one of the most embarrassing
realities when dealing with Linux, this Netscape "freeze" or
sudden "dissapearance" is sadly common and in fact you should
expect it.

     If you have been saving bookmarks, however, I suggest you
kill the process with a -12 before trying a -9 since it is more
probable that whatever information you had just re-configured
will be saved in that fashion.

     There's nothing you can do except use lynx, arena, or try
supporting mozilla (which I think will end up whomping everything
else once we get a final stable release.)
