Issuing http request via bash shell script
Hello everyone,
I'm somewhat familiar with shell scripting and am looking for a way to
check the status of a particular web application and email some
notifications if there are any problems. Essentially, I'd like to
retrieve the http response data from a java servlet that scans a log
file for errors. Depending on the response, I'll go ahead and email the
appropriate individual.
How do I issue a http request and then capture the response?
By the way, I'm using FreeBSD on an F5 box if that makes any difference.
Thanks,
Andrew
