 sendto returns ENETUNREACH
Hi NG,

I've developed an application which uses UDP broadcasts on port 23232 to
find a communication server. This app is working in my office on SuSE 7.2
and 8.0 but not on any linux box of my customer (SuSE 7.2 and RedHat 6.1).

There we always get errno 101 = ENETUNREACH. We already checked the network
configuration and found no problems. The network itself is working on all
machines but UDP broadcasts are not working.

Any help appreciated.

ENETUNREACH means the network stack thinks there is no way to reach the
destination with the route map in place.  Check the network
configuration again.

Also make sure that you are enabling broadcast using the proper socket option,
and that you are using the proper broadcast address. Some TCP/IP stacks are more
forgiving than others when you do something wrong.
