Hi,

What does the error messages in /usr/adm/syslog mean?

Aug 22 19:05:19 lta1 telnetd[13175]: can't find user  in protected
password data

Aug 23 01:12:57 lta1 telnetd[14743]: ttloop:  peer died: Unknown error
Aug 23 01:13:01 lta1 telnetd[14744]: ttloop:  peer died: Unknown error
Aug 23 01:13:18 lta1 telnetd[14745]: ttloop:  peer died: Unknown error
Aug 23 01:13:31 lta1 telnetd[14746]: ttloop:  peer died: Unknown error
Aug 23 01:13:49 lta1 telnetd[14747]: ttloop:  peer died: Unknown error
Aug 23 01:14:52 lta1 telnetd[14750]: ttloop:  peer died: Unknown error

In my experience I have seen this when say a windows user telnets in and
then closes out the window without typing anything at the login prompt.

So, telnet fires up, presents a login, and then is killed by something,
and this message shows up in the syslog.
