 Netatalk and Network Browser
I've got Netatalk up and running on MKLinux with the Generic 07 kernel.
It's working fine, but I can't connect to the server using the Network
Browser under Mac OS 8.5.1. The Network Browser can "see" the server,
but can't get any further than the "Connect" window. When I click
Connect, nothing happens. I can't connect as a guest either.

What's interesting is that I can connect from that same Mac OS system
if I use the Chooser. Most of the time I can connect just by selecting
the AppleShare icon, then selecting a server. Sometimes, that indicates
the server can't be found. When that happens, I have to connect using
the Server IP Address button, and supplying the IP address of the
MKLinux box.

Does anybody have any suggestions about how to make the logins more
reliable? Thanks in advance!

Steve

 Netatalk and Network Browser

In article <8lhmgr$p9...@nnrp1.deja.com>, ku...@my-deja.com says...

I have netatalk running, I can log in to volumes just fine, but I always have to
use the IP number. For convenience, just make an alias of the remote volume.
When you dismount the volume, the alias remains. When you click on the alias, it
will log in directly to the volume. No fiddling with the chooser, just click the
alias to login to an unmounted volume.
