Try xpdf:

http://ftp.linuxppc.org/contrib/software/Applications/Publishing/xpdf...
a.ppc.rpm

then

rpm -i xpdf-0.90-4a.ppc.rpm

..and to run:

xpdf

Binaries for x86 CPUs will not run on any other CPU, and therefore
you won't get the linux/x86 version of acroread working on a linux/ppc
system. Adobe would have to provide a PPC version first.
