Hi.

I have a Powerbook (pismo) and tried to install SuseLinux6.4. When the
installation was finished, i could boot my system from there. So i installed
BootX, placed the kernel in the systems folder and tried to boot my machine.
It crashed.
It hung during the usb-configuration, so i took that out, recompiled and
installed the new kernel. Same result. After every crash my filesystem is
{*filter*}ed up big time. The only way to boot is to start the installation kernel
from the cd by pressing c on bootup, and then exit yast and boot the
installed system. This is VERY annoying.

Does anybody have an idea ?

you are lucky, my Pismo did not came that far ;).

Serious,
that version of BootX does not work on a Pismo.
Follow the instruction on the first CD and install yaboot
(copy the suseboot folder onto the boot partion ...).
Swap the lines in os-chooser which select the boot into MacOS and Linux.
A reboot with space-bar pressed gets you into Linux, otherwise into
MacOS.

go to the BootX site and get the newer version - then it works fine!
