 Blinking cursor after gnome logout
subject linne says it all.  I'm running LinuxPPC2000 with
Gnome/Enlightenment.  Occasionally, logging out of Gnome yields a black
screen with a blinking cursor only.  It hangs at this point and will not
continue.

   ideas?

 Blinking cursor after gnome logout

I have the same problem, but during the start of X (runlevel3, startx) or
gdm (runlevel5).
It just happens maybe 3 of 10 starts. I guess its the XPmac-rel10, but i'm
not sure.
Same behaviour - black screen, cursor on left top of the screen. I tried
several WM's. No change.
When i change the screen (rl3) ALT-F2 and back the shell appears again and i
can try one more startx.

If you are on gdm, write a kill into
/etc/[X11/]gdm/PostSession/Default, like:

kill $(pidof /usr/bin/X11/X)
kill -9 $(pidof /usr/bin/X11/X)

That eases the situation a bit.
