 DOMAIN NAME SERVICE
I have recently installed 8.0 server installation on my server.  I
want to know where to change the DNS settings.  I have the Domain Name
Service window up, but I don't know if I should change name to IP
translations or IP to name translations.  I can view local network
connections, but no outside connections.  Any help would be greatly
appreciated!

 DOMAIN NAME SERVICE

Assuming that this isn't a homework assignment for you, just make sure that
/etc/resolv.conf contains the following entries:

    nameserver 129.186.1.200
    nameserver 129.186.140.200
    nameserver 129.186.142.200
    search agron.iastate.edu

and that the output of the following command contains the word "dns":

    grep "^hosts" /etc/nsswitch.conf

It's that simple. Skip all the fancy GUI tools; they'll just confuse you,
get in your way and interfere with your learning.
