 can I install mandrake9 rpms onto redhat7.1 to update
Hi all;

I seem to preferr redhat to mandrake9. But only got redhat7.1
installed. I have a geforce4 mx440 64meg card, which 7.1 does not want
to know about.

Can I use the rpms on mandrake9 cds (1&2) to upgrade redhat7.1?

doesn't sound like a good idea to me, why don't you try the official
nvidia drivers?

No. Not only no, but hell no.

OTOH, frigging no.

Go to the nvidia site and get the drivers --- very easy to do.

(you see, the drivers are very kernel sensitive!)

If you have the Mandrake 9 cds .. why don't you just install mandrake
9?
If you are insistant on staying with Redhat 7.1, make sure you have
patched up all that can be patched, updated your kernel and then go
out to the NVidia site and grab the Linux drivers that the others have
mentioned.
