 Determining Disk Space Usage

Assuming your home directories are in /export do:

  cd /export
  du -sk * | sort -n

: I am running SUN Solaris 2.5.1 with over 1000 users.

: I need to determine how much disk space each account user is taking up
: in their personal directories.

: What is the command format to accomplish this and have it sorted?

: Thanks in advance!

I have a program that reads the raw device, locates the inodes and
summarizes the storage by user.  It runs on 8 million files every
day, over seven file systems.  Takes about 20 minutes to run.  If
someone wants more info, pls email.

'quot' does this quite nice .. my favourite is 'quot -v' to find
out about those disk hogs with lots of data that is rarely accessed.

Expressed in this posting are my opinions.  They are in no way related
to opinions held by my employer, Sun Microsystems.
Statements on Sun products included here are not gospel and may
