Change default colors for terminal window in CDE
Hello all.

How do I change the default colors for the terminal window (dtterm) in
CDE from black on white to cyan (or green) on black.  (You know, so
when I start a new terminal window, it starts with 'my' colors)

I'd rather not have to reset using the GUI for every window I open.

thanx
Craig

Use settings in $HOME/.Xdefaults like this:

XTerm*background : black
XTerm*cursorColor: red
XTerm*foreground : green

I forget what you have to replace XTerm with; it's DtTerm or DTterm, or
possibly DTTerm.

It's Dtterm, actually.

Dtterm*cursorColor does not work for dtterm; a quick scan of the man page
does not reveal any provision for setting the text cursor color; it seems
to be whatever the foreground color is.  There are resources for setting the
style and blink rate; see dtterm(1) for details.

To set only the text area colors and not mess up the menu bar or scroll
bar colors, try

Dtterm*dtTerm.foreground: green
Dtterm*dtTerm.background: black
