I tried, but failed. I got hold of a 450mhz cpu for my Ultra 60
and changed jumper 3001 to pins 2 and 3, plugged in the 450 and tried to
boot it. It didn't work. It soulnded liek the power triedto come on, for
a fraction of a second, but then went dead.

        I've followed the instructions in the following manual:

        to no avail. I have Solaris 9 with pen Boot 3.29. This combo
should work. Any pointers or did I possibly get a bad CPU?
