 ADSL on Solaris 8 02/02 - Intel
Back again with the same problem. It seems, that there is no Ethernet Card
in /dev. The System is telling me, that device hme0 could not be found in
/dev. I also tried the device iprb0 - without success. I thought, that there
is something wrong with the Networksetup (DHCP and all this stuff). So, I
installed Solaris again and answerd the relating Questions with "Yes" (I
want to use DHCP). Also without success - the system was telling me, that it
is not possible to connect the Ethernet device with a IP no. I'm
struggeling - cause I don't know, what I missed to do. I must use DHCP
client based - perhaps Solaris whant' to run DHCP as Server?

Are there any Ideas, what I've made wrong?

Kind Regards

There is no hme driver for Solaris x86, as you are not likely
to be using an hme NIC in it.

Exactly which ethernet card have you got (manufacturer, model,
and the part number on the chip on it)?  Have you checked it's
in the hardware compatability list for whichever version of
Solaris you have (which you didn't indicate either)?

Well, it' an Allied Telesyn AT 2500. This Card might be supported via
Realtek (RLT8139) Drivers. I hope, I'll find a Device in /dev that belongs
to a.m. Driver

Please don't top-post.

If it is an RTL8139 card, then you'll have to download the drivers from
realtek ( or something like that).
