How to set the screen saver background with .jpg file?
Tried to use Style manager, click the screen icon it doesn't show the
option of "screen locker background" or "screen locker transparent" as
indicates in the "help" topic. Why? This are solaris 8.

Thanks for help!

In the "Style manager" set "backdrop" to "nobackdrop" then use any good
jpeg viewer to view it.

Also note that you need to set this for each workspace.

I use xv as below.

/opt/tools/bin/xv -viewonly -root ~/pict/background.jpg&

Hi, thanks for reply.
I know using this xv for set the background for each workplace.
This is not for screen locker background. Say, when you lock your
screen, u want to set a background picture, How to do that?

In article <>, (Bridge) writes:

Out of the box, I don't think you can.

There may be some freeware screenlocker that can do it, but AFAIK only
xlockmore can be built for CDE integration, and I don't think it can do
it unless that was added to a quite recent version.

The whole point of a screen saver is that it moves, i.e. that pixels aren't
lit up at the same color all the time (not that modern color monitors
suffer much from burn-in).  A fixed image wouldn't do that.
