SIGSEGV from java application display to eXceed server

i get the following java stack trace dump when i try to run a java (java
1.2.2_06) application on
SunOS clay 5.7 Generic_106541-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10
the machine doesn't have a monitor, so i have to display to win2000. i'm
trying to display the application on a win2000 box running eXceed
version 7.0 as the X server. it appears to be something to do with the
latest recommende patch cluster (?3/5/00) because i installed the
patches and now it breaks. i've now tried backing out the patches and it
still breaks, but it didn't before. any suggestions?

also, is there some place on the sun web site to report Solaris bugs? it
seems to be well hidden.
