Since I prefer exim, I ran into the same issue. Disk space is rarely an
issue nowadays, so, I simply found the occurrences of the sendmail
executable, renamed them (just in case I ever wanted to play with sendmail)
and created symbolic links from sendmail to exim. Works fine. Actually, I
was a bit surprised that the port install script didn't do this for me since
after a successful 'pkg_add exim', the system silently continued to use
sendmail. Don't forget to adjust '/etc/rc.conf' accordingly.
