Anytime I try to run a program the following error appears.
/usr/libexec/-ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libxpg4.so.3" not found.
I can't run programs that have any graphics in them. I looked on the
ports website of freebsd,the only thing I could find was a netscape
plugin with the same name, I installed it, but to no avail.
I am running freebsd 4.0 on an i386.
Any suggestions?

Main suggestion:  try comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc.

In this case, you're asking about a library that should be on your
system.  Check to see if it's there; it should be in /usr/lib.  If
it's not there, something is wrong with your system, as I think it
should be part of the base install.
