 starting X-Windows
I just installed FreeBSD 4.3 and the XFree86 and KDE that was on the
ISO.

When I type startx, it's giving me an error (need to be root to execute
xinit... or something like this). How can I start it without being root?

Thanks!

Here's the message:

xf86OpenConsole: Server must be running with root permissions
You should be using Xwrapper to start the server or xdm.

I fixed the problem by chmod a+s /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_SVGA (or corresponding server)

With my installation there is a program called Xwrapper that
comes with it.  Do you have it in /usr/X11R6/bin?

(There is a port /usr/ports/x11/wrapper but that is meant
for XFree86 version 4 I think.)

Yes, I have Xwrapper, but there's a video driver problem (it doesn't find it and I don't
know how to install a driver on FreeBSD).
