You have the same problem I have.
I have a bsd box with a static ip and windows with DHCP and they are on a
different subnet.
This is @home setup problem. They are either trying to limit us or are
incompetent.
I think it's latter.
If they are selling people static IPs they should make sure that they are on
the same subnet as their dhcp machines.
They know that there will be traffice between the machines and its putting
additional stress and unneccesary traffice on their router.
