 sendmail doesn't work!

That's because there is no name associated with the address. Sendmail
use DNS for name resolution so i think i would be a good idea to either
setup your machine for a DNS or set a DNS server on the machine.

 sendmail doesn't work!

Or simply edit /etc/hosts

Actually what you should do is edit /etc/mail/
and there is a line fully qualified domain name if sendmail can't resolve
it. You specify a name there and sendmail will start.

 sendmail doesn't work!
So I decided my problem with ping...

But I still can't send e-mail from my network computers :(

This is message I got from my Outlook Express:

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's
e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was
''. Subject 'Test', Account: 'test', Server:
'', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '451 4.1.8
<>... Domain of sender address does not resolve', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 451, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

??? I have no idea what does it mean

You have something wrong with your DNS server or
you do not have sendmail setup to relay for your
domain properly.

You should be able to do the following for any host
on you network you want to send mail from.

$ nslookup
Default Server:
Address:  10.Blah.Blah.Blah

Address:  10.blah.blah.blah    preference = 1, mail exchanger =  nameserver =    internet address = 10.blah.blah.blah

If this does not work then your DNS server is messed up.

If this works, then you have relaying messed up and you need to
figure that out. sendmail is a monster to configure unless
you are already very familiar with smtp.

I recommend
"Running Qmail", Rich Blum and Richard Blum.
DNS and BIND, Cricket Liu
