Having Trouble configuring Free Bsd for DHCP for my @home cable modem

I found it necessary to have something like this in
/etc/dhclient.conf

interface "rl0" {
  send host-name "c1234567-a";

where rl0 is the name of my ethernet card.  The rest is easy:
I put in /etc/rc.conf the line
ifconfig_rl0="DHCP"
