Native jdk1.4.1 JNI problem with Eclipse IDE

I make FreeBSD-Motif port(build -os FreeBSD -ws Motif) for
Eclipse RC1(eclipse-sourceBuild-srcIncluded-RC1.zip) recently.
and also use jdk1.4.1-pre_p3. I did not have this problem.

Can you show me how you did that?

I don't want to get stuck between one person telling me our JNI is ropey
and another telling me it works for something I don't have access to.
:-)

I just compiled Eclipse 2.1RC1 with GTK on -STABLE and it appears to
work just fine. With jdk1.41p3 of course :).

The port I used in nowhere near of production quality though...

So there are 3 eclipse-2.1-rc1 ports floating around, two of which work
but aren't published and one of which doesn't work and is published.

What would be cool is if one of the unpublished ones was made available,
so that I could try to figure out what JNI funkiness exists in the
broken one that's handled better in a working one.  The unpublished -gtk
variant would be ideal, since the broken one is a -gtk variant.

One of the cool things about the ports tree is that it acts as a great
reference, even if its contents aren't perfect *hint*.  It can also
prevent duplication of effort *hint* *hint*.   :-)

To that end, I think I'll commit James' version to the ports tree when
the freeze is over, unless someone else decides to commit their as-yet
unpublished version.

Ciao,
Sheldon.

Is the port Alexander used available?  If so, could you provide a URL?

No, that's my point.  Only James' is, and that's the one that isn't

I'll try to clean the port up a bit and post it here if people are
interested in getting it polished enough for a commit.

Yes please.  If anything, it'd give me something to compare with James
Flemer's version, so I can try figure out why his port works fine for
1.3.1 but not 1.4.1. :-)
