 Question On ROM Bios Shadowing In LINUX

rom bios shadowing just wastes memory under linux.

        I have a 2-meg ATI Mach 32.  X-Windows worked fine, but until I
turned off shadowing I couldn't get DOSemu to work with direct video (as
opposed to using console emulation).

Err.. It does help with the "BOOT" floppy but that is about it.
When it goes to read the "ROOT" floppy, the kernal is responsible for R/W
and it goes a lot faster.

PS: I'm talking about the slackware instalation here....
