 wierd make/install problem - looking for non existant file

I should have mentioned -- it was working fine up to about the beginning of
January,
the only changes I made were to install GNOME and remove KDE - This error
occurs on ANY package being built. (the one package in particular which I
first noticed
this happen was php3 - I rebuilt it a couple of times to enable features, as
well as compiling
other packages, at which point everything was working fine.) then I did my
switch
from KDE to GNOME. When the actual proble started occurring I'm not sure, as I
didn't
do any compiles using the install programme for a month or so.
