 RH 6.0 Floppy read only?
Is it possible that you have /dev/fd0 flagged as ro in /etc/fstab?

 RH 6.0 Floppy read only?

Hi Everyone,

I have just installed RH 6.0 over my previous RH 5.2 installation having
reformatted the drive.

I now find that mount will only mount the /mnt/floppy as read only - the
message is that the filesystem is write-protected. I have changed the
permissions on the /dev/fd0 file and /mnt/floppy/ directories but to no
avail. I boot from the floppy and I need to change my lilo config file so I
can use X windows on my Dell inspiron 7K.

Anyone any ideas?

TIA
Richard

Or more likely, your write protect tab on that particular floppy is
set :-)  !
