 Wierd File system problems

Why is it that every time I rm a large chunk of files from e2fs I get cross
linked files?

I have at different times rm'd Qt, KDE and other large directories and
after doing so I have had to goto debugfs to rm bad inodes. This in turn
has forced removal of (last time this happened) files in the root directory.

I had kde under dev/hdb2 /usr/local and root under /dev/hdb1 /root.

rming /usr/local/kde and the bad inodes forced removal of the files in the
root directory.

How can these files get crossed linked since they are on seperate
partitions?

I thought only dos did this sort of thing.   ):
