2.6.5 Still no vesafb on Geforce4!
Another kernel version release, but still the vesafb doesn't work on
the Geforce4 on my shuttle XPC (SN41G2), so I'm stuck with 80 column
consoles.  Is anybody working on this, or do I have to buy video cards?

If they are working on it, there's a chance that there not{*filter*} around
here.  If I were asking that question, I'd start by searching the LKML
archives to see if there's been any chatter about it.  If not, you could
search groups.google to see if anyone else has a similar problem.  If all
else fails, you can always look in the kernel docs or source, find out just
who is maintaining that package, and ask them.

I've the same problem which is known by Nvidia, you are not allowed to use
fb with nvidia drivers on some hardware,
it seems to be due to a bug in the bios.
Even on some hardware text consoles don't work with the new releases of the
nvidia driver.

They work on it for a future release, but the new unofficial beta release
(5341) doesn't work.

Visit http://www.nvnews.net -> forum -> Linux and nvidia graphics
if you want to analyse all the problems with GeForce, you have at least 4
issues with framebuffer problem.
