Can't open shared file object (libXmu.so.6) No such file or directory
I bought Red Hat 5.2 and was upgrading a pc with 4.2 on it that had X
working on it.  After upgrading to 5.2, when I use startx, I get the
following error message:
libXmu.so.6 Cannot open shared object file.  No such file or directory.
The file is in /usr/X11R6/lib and PATH includes /usr/X11R6/lib.  Is
there another environmental variable that needs to be set.  Also running
as root.

Thank you

Rick Strickland

Can't open shared file object (libXmu.so.6) No such file or directory

Fixed. In /etc, copied ld.so.conf.rpmsave to ld.so.conf and then ran ldconfig.
X worked.
