X won't work error in loading shared libraries : libxmu.so.6
i have just installed Mandrake 7.1 and i can't get x to work, i get the
following error when i type "startx" at the command prompt
error in loading shared libraries: libXmu.so.6: cannot open shared object
file: no such file or directory
Presumably something is missing but what and how do i fix it, my PC is dual
boot so i can boot into windows if i need to download something
Hope someone can help as i was looking forward to using Mandrake

Something for X wasn't installed.   idon't know about Mandrake but SuSE
does dependencies checks on the fly as you are picking the packages you
want to install.  If Mandrake does this pay attention to it. I'm not
sure what package the file in question is in and therefore couldn't tell
you which package you need specifically.  Unless someone else answers
I'd say look through your rpms on the CD and see if you can tell which
package is needed...if Mandrake has something that lets you know what
packages are already installed like Yast does with Suse I'd suggest
using that as a guideline so you know which packages are already
installed and therefore concentrate on those that aren't.
