_setutent: Can't open utmp file: No such file or directory
Hi,

I just upgraded to the lastest lib-c (image-4.6.27.tar.gz) and now I get
the following error message. What gives? It only happens with xterm. Note I
have a file name "/etc/utmp" and it seems to be okay.
Also the message is repeated four times.

*** error ***
_setutent: Can't open utmp file: No such file or directory_setutent: Can't
open utmp file: No such file or directory_setutent: Can't open utmp file:
No such file or directory_setutent: Can't open utmp file: No such file or
directory
*** end error ***

Thanks,

Helen

In article <1995Jan30.201731.27...@mercury.ncat.edu>,

I think you'l find that fdopen is broken in 4.6.27  (at least ftp doesn't
work for me)

anyway,   ln -s /etc/utmp /var/adm/utmp

cured my problems
