Is that MAC address above the MAC address of your network card? if
not, then there _must_ be some other device around.

btw, MAC prefix 00:05:02 resolves to "Apple Computer (PCI bus Macs)"
so you might look there for your answers.

Silly question,

Do you have more than one NIC in your computer, andy by chance are they
plugged in to a switch or a hub? If so the computer is talking to itself
and the ARP table is getting mucked up. What I did to stop ARP loops
when two NICs are in one computer and plugged in to the same hub or
switch was to toss in a -arp in the rc.conf for a given interface and ip
address. Just one should do it. :)

Now this may not be the case.

What else might be happening is that the ARP tables are mucked up and
maybe a clearing of them might help and hopefully they don't get mucked
up again.

When an address of is seen it means it is refering to itself. So
some how you might have created a loop either by firewall, NAT, dummy
net or some other scheme.

Another thought is, are you defining more than one IP on the same NIC?
Just a thought.
