 Linux-Netscape6 on FreeBSD 3.2 : libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file
Hi,

I installed the last port version of linux-netscape6 and this is what
I got :

.//run-mozilla.sh ./mozilla-bin
MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/local/lib/linux-netscape6
  LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib/linux-netscape6/Cool:/usr/local/lib/linux-netscape6:/usr/local/lib/rvplayer5.0
      XPCS_HOME=/usr/local/lib/linux-netscape6/Cool
      MOZ_PROGRAM=./mozilla-bin
      MOZ_TOOLKIT=
        moz_debug=0
     moz_de{*filter*}=
./mozilla-bin: error in loading shared libraries
libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Any idea about that problem ?

Thanks in advance for your help.                        Gildas.

It looks like you're missing library from one of the linux base
packages, or the linux base package you have installed isn't recent
enough to include it. You could try upgrading your linux base packages
or copying this library from a linux machine and putting it in
/compat/linux/usr/lib.

 Linux-Netscape6 on FreeBSD 3.2 : libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file

Hello everyone,

I have a similar problem but I get a different error message when I
try to run Netscape 6:

nauplius:~> netscape6
.//run-mozilla.sh ./mozilla-bin
MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/local/lib/linux-netscape6
  LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib/linux-netscape6:/usr/local/lib/linux-netscape6/Cool
      XPCS_HOME=/usr/local/lib/linux-netscape6/Cool
      MOZ_PROGRAM=./mozilla-bin
      MOZ_TOOLKIT=
        moz_debug=0
     moz_de{*filter*}=
Bad system call

I'm running FreeBSD 3.2 and I've got all the linux libs
installed. Other Linux programs run fine.

Any help are greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you'll need a more recent version of FreeBSD, the
message probably means that it was calling a Linux system call
which wasn't part of FreeBSD's Linux compatability calls in FreeBSD
3.2. There might be a message in your logs/on the console indicating
which system call caused the problem.
